I'll be moving this to scraps soon, but I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, so it's gonna be in my gallery for a few days. The rules were no tracing, no color picking (not that I do that anyway). I didn't manage to recreate the leather texture completely, but I really do like how the light bulb turned out. Did it in Painter X if anyone cares.

Fantastic job on this one too! I think you did better than mine as your form is more spot on. I love the soft texture you give everything too. Very nicely done. Again, my only slight critique (not really needed though) is that your brightest points (the white-ish highlights on the metal on the bulb, and the bright red spot on the floor on the bottom right) are not quite bright enough compared with the original... but again I do not think it really matter because you capture the essence of the image so amazingly well. Fine work indeed!

Mmm, yeah... those highlights again. I tried to make them brighter, but they're still not bright enough. Actually I had made the metal threads of the bulb brighter than this for a while, but it looked weird to me! So I dulled 'em down a tad in the end. I guess that's something I need to watch out for.

Well, thank you very much! This was fun, especially the glass part of the bulb. :)

Thanks! :) It was surprisingly not too boring to paint, but that's 'cause it was sort of a challenge thing. Normally still lifes aren't really my thing.

That's really nicely done! Bulb detail is great, I like the screwy part.

Yeah, elements with weird or deformed reflections/refractions are always challenging to paint, especially if you go on the "realistic" way, like you did.. it was great, and given that it's "not your thing" it came out great:)
